Announcing...Trick or Treat with Agents Contest
I'm thrilled to announce a very exciting and delicious contest that I was invited to co-host with the extremely talented Kimberly Chase and Deanna Romito.
Submissions will open October 24th at 11 AM EDT with the first 150 entries making it in (all rules must be followed correctly to advance). Each host will then choose 12 entries that best fit the interests of the participating agents. The finalists will be posted on our blogs from October 29-31. Costumed agents will stop by during those dates to hand out treats, or rather manuscript requests.
Look for a blog post introducing our costumed agents and what they are looking for right now sometime next week.
Contest is open to MG,YA, and Adult. (Please check agent interests to see if your genre is a good fit.)
Be sure to follow us on Twitter and our blogs for updates. @kpchase817 @brendadrake @writeforapples and #AgentTreat.

I read those author questions yesterday on Dee's blog, and that first one is a real stumper I can tell this is going to be a lot of fun. I can't wait to see some of the responses. :D
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun contest. If I focus (on writing that is) maybe I will have something for this one!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a blast! I'll be spreading the word for you!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be trying! This sounds great and I love the first question! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is probably the most unique contest I have ever heard about in the blogging world!
ReplyDeleteWow; very interesting. A unique way of enticing an agent. I put this in my sidebar.
ReplyDelete.......dhole
Hi, Brenda,
ReplyDeleteAnother great contest. I don't know how you all do it? It's awesome.
I will put you guys up on my sidebar and do an announcement sometime next week.
Hope all is well with you.
Michael
I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteOne question: In the format info it says "Name:" I am assuming that is the authors name, right? Just wanted to make sure :)
ReplyDeleteI am excited :D My sister sent me a link to this and I shall be attempting to enter. Yay!
ReplyDeleteGreat contest! Can't wait....
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteMay I post the jpeg with the detail on my blog or would you rather I just do what I usually do and put up a teaser and link back? Thanks!
What do you mean by "costumed character"? Are you asking how our MC would dress for Halloween, or are you asking about an established costumed character, like Batman, Spiderman, etc?
ReplyDeleteIt's what costume relates to your character. Kim example is that her MC would dress up as a pilot/astronaut because she's really into flying.
DeleteI'd like to post about this on my blog. May I use the info image as well as a link back to here? Thank you.
ReplyDelete"In your character's voice..."
ReplyDeleteShould we write the answer to question one in first person even if the manuscript is written in third person?
Just as an FYI, this flier left off the request for word count. I know I didn't realize the requirement for word count. Some other submitters might not has realized that word count was required. I shared this link and am hoping no one I know was disqualified over an improper submission. :(
ReplyDelete(FYI: I am NOT upset over not making it to the next round. I want to make some revisions I've recently been inspired to make, so I get some time to make my manuscript better.)
We realized that it was left off, and didn't discount anyone who left it off. But before posting their entries we asked for the word count to make sure it was in the ball park for their genre/category.
DeleteOkay, good. I saw the 39 that made it through all had word counts, so wasn't sure. I'm glad no one was discounted for that. There are some great pitches posted!
