The plot is filled with action, twists, betrayal, and witch craft. What else would you want in a paranormal romance? An endearing romance? Yeah, it has that too! So get the book and go along with Jewel on her journey to self discovery and to finding her soul mate. You'll be glad you did!
Spectral Summary:
Convinced she’s a part of the witness protection program, sixteen-year-old Jewel Rose is shuffled around the globe with her family like a pack of traveling gypsies. After arriving at lucky home twenty-seven, she stumbles upon a mysterious boy with magical powers claiming to be her guardian . . . and warning of imminent danger. Despite the obvious sparks between them, Jewel discovers a relationship is forbidden, and the more she learns about dark, brooding Roman, she begins to question who she can even believe — the family who raised her, or the supposed sworn protector who claims they’ve been lying to her all along.
As she struggles to uncover who her family has really been running from, she is forced to hide her birthmark that reveals who she is. With new realities surfacing, unexplained powers appearing, and two tempting boys vying for her heart, Jewel battles to learn who she can trust in an ever growing sea of lies, hoping she’ll make it through her seventeenth birthday alive.

If I suddenly found myself in the witness protection plan? I think I would miss all my writer friends I have made recently. That kind of support group is important. Of course, I would miss my family more, but I figured that was an obvious answer. :D
ReplyDeleteThat's a great one, Andrew. Okay, yes, family is an obvious one. So let's just say your entire family is with you. ;)
ReplyDeletewho says I *wasn't* in the witness protection program?! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo, that thing I miss the most? Well, it has to be the ability of making and KEEPING friends. Moving around every 3 years really played havoc on that ability. When you open you heart to friends, and then have to leave them, or they leave you, and there is no way to remain "close" anymore is hard. And now, as an adult, I fear it is damn near impossible.
Hey, at least I have my friends in my imaginary worlds (what I write), and in the books I read!
(Seriously Blogger hates me! I've lost so many comments because of it! So I am signing in with Anonymous and hope it takes this time...)

i would miss the freedom of sending the kids to school cause when their off they don't let me read or go on my laptop :( or the hubby to work cause then i wont have any funding for my book obsession
ReplyDeletebut then again i would go absolutely insane without my books :D xxxx
Oh that's a hard one. I think I'd miss the writing community the most to be honest. I've never found a more supportive group of people ever. Of course, there are always a few bad apples that spoil the bunch, but in general they've become some of the best people ever.
ReplyDeleteAfter that, I'm with Sian_x. I'd have to re-start my massive book collection!!! EEK!
I would miss my freedom. I like being able to do what I want when I want to do it. Having to be careful about where I go, what I do, what I say, etc? Letting other people have a say in, or even be in control of, all of those things? I think I'd go crazy! If my family was with me, so I at least didn't have to constantly miss and worry about them, I'd be able to muddle through, I'm sure. Doesn't mean I wouldn't hate it, though.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an awesome book! And in my genre too... :D Thanks for the detes!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Sounds like a great book and a great critique partnership! Best of luck with the book launch.
ReplyDeleteMartina
IF I found myself in the witness protection program, I would be devastated. I'd lose my freedom, my friends, my family. And, oddly enough, I'd be extremely devastated about losing my name. I don't even particularly like my name but it is such a huge identifying part of myself that without it, I don't know how I would like it.
ReplyDeleteI suppose I'd miss the freedom the most. It'd be scary, but having my family there with me would help.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, thanks for your phenomenal support of Shannon on the "book birthday/release day" of SPECTRAL. Good luck to all who enter the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard when a book has a love triangle between two hot guys because I never know which one to pick! (But usually it's the first guy. I get attached like that...)
ReplyDeleteI love all these answers. I think the freedom would be the hardest thing to lose. I guess if you weren't happy with your life, it would be nice to start over. But that's not me. Thanks for entering everyone!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really good. The other day, I told my husband I thought our neighbors might be in the witness protection program! That's because both of them carefully back in their cars, one in the garage and one in the driveway - who does that? (Especially in the garage) :)
ReplyDeleteI'd miss all of my friends - the "adopted family" that spans the globe. I don't know how I could leave them all behind!
ReplyDeleteWow, if I suddenly found myself in witsec, there are so many things. I would miss my friends. I have tight knit friends that I talk to everyday and my best friend of 20yrs, well yeah, I would be lost without her. I would miss the people I work with, I would miss the subtle joys of my city, like all the locally owned businesses. Yeah, it would be really rough.

ReplyDeleteMy entire family is with me?
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know - that's a lot of people right there if we could cousins and aunts ;) But if we are going direct family? Can I keep my cats?
The one "best" friend that I have is so close to me that she's dating my brother in law. There are several people that I would leave behind, and I don't mean to sound callous, but I've moved before (across country). I've had to start from scratch.
So, I would probably miss my name the most, seeing as how I would probably have to change that :P
If my whole family is with me, then i don't think i would miss anything. Friends, sure, but family is everything
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteVery good blog post I love your site keep up the great posts......
Adobe digital editions
I love the butterfly stickers. So great. Can't wait to read Spectral. It's on my list. Great post to get the word out!
ReplyDeleteAs long as I had my family, I would be happy, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, every time I click on the "current followers" entry button, it hides the entry box behind the video. :(
ReplyDeleteyay! It works now! Thanks, Brenda :)
ReplyDeleteIf I was in the witness protection program... I'd probably miss my skating rink the most. That place is my escape, like a very cold second home. (Following as Emberchyld on Twitter and Isabel on the blogs)
ReplyDeleteI know this contest is about to end, so I just wanted to personally thank everyone who entered and weighed in on the Witness Protection Program thing. For me, if I was forced into that sort of thing, I'd miss the normalcy of life, not being able to make close bonds with people, and feeling like I had to look over my shoulder every minute.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, you totally rock for doing this contest! Thank you so much!! And to whoever wins, I really hope you enjoy Spectral! =)
This sounds great and the cover is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIf I was in witness protection I'd miss coaching speech. I love my speech kids. :)
